On June 21, 2009 Kiev Golf Club held the Second International golf tournament for prizes of Kiev Cigar Club. The event included a lot of special actions and because of them we can call it a social reunion. In particular, PokerStars organized two poker tournaments, Bossner provided elegant cigars and Helen Marlen company held a glamorous défilé. Car saloon Porsche Center Kiev showed luxury cars Porsche that caused special delight among tournament participants and guests.

The tournament was organized by Kiev Cigar Club, which is a private organization and only men can be its members.

The tournament was held on 9-holes Park course in Stableford format (for 18 holes) and was attended by 36 players. Alexander Volkov, legendary basketball player, head of Ukrainian Basketball Federation, was invited to the course specially for the first strike. The following five hours players were competing under the scorching sun. Of course, it is not a big deal for «privy golfers». Also, if we look at it from the other point, we will see a breathtaking competition on the most picturesque course under the crystal-clear sky... Perhaps, it all depends on a point of view.

Vladimir Belyi became a winner of the tournament. Vitaliy Khomenko and Igor Movchan got the second and third prizes.

While the golf tournament can be regarded as a central event of the day, a lot of attention was paid by organizers to a sport and entertainment program for guests. Due to this, more than 200 people, Cigar Club members, their families, as well as specially invited guests could enjoy a true social gathering.

As always, our golf clinic caused great interest among «novices» in golf. Guests, who never held a golf club, could both learn basics of the sport and take part in a mini-competition. Igor Yevtushenko got the first place among guests, the second and third ones went to Alexander Rachaker and Lyudmila Kryzhanovskaya.

Bossner, General Cigar Partner of the tournament, provided a special tent for smoking cigars, which was a very attractive recreation place within the Club. Close by there were two tables for playing sport poker. International online poker room PokerStars conducted two mini-tournaments, learning and charity, which generated 2500 UAH. PokerStars stressed on social responsibility of sport poker and doubled the amount.

Official Partner of the tournament Nemiroff developed a series of refreshing cocktails especially for this event. Those drinks were very popular in the heat of 30 degrees above around Kiev on that day.


Porsche Center Kiev, general automotive partner of the tournament, presented four new cars Porsche Cayenne and sport car Carrera 911 at the event. Porsche team gave professional consultations to all fans of fast driving, introduced cars and philosophy of Porsche, the main component of which is to give customers pleasure from driving and the car. Porsche boutique was opened on the territory of our golf club where all who wanted bought new items from Porsche Design collection, which are essential attributes for true connoisseurs of Porsche.

Helen Marlen company, which brings together a number of international designer brands, was a fashion-partner of the tournament. Marc Jacobs, Chloe, Y-3, etc. are among them. Model defile Golf style and Cocktail style proved once again that the topic of golf remains an inexhaustible source of inspiration for the producers of clothing and accessories of premium-class.

The organizers did not forget about children. Knights' duels, a town of ropes, lessons of pottery craft, remote-control cars Porshe, a defile of young dandies from trademark Orchestra – this is not a complete list of surprises for young and future golfers.
