On February 21, 2009 Art Auction was held and it was in the end of a week-long marathon, which presented the best works of Ukrainian artists of the XX-XXIst centuries. Peter Ellqvist, President of Kiev Golf Club and Diplomat Club, made a welcoming speech during its opening. Admirer of Modern Art and Ukrainian landscape, he expressed confidence that people who can appreciate beauty, should be sensitive to golf. Incidentally, there were a lot of landscapes among presented works, especially made by older generation of artists. And it also could not but draw a parallel to golf. Which other sport «mastered» with such perfection the art of picturesque natural space and so subtly teaches to appreciate its beauty? ...

Works of different directions were in demand at the auction: graphics, paintings and sketches for theatrical productions. It is worth considering that all of these were the best samples, but not in the same proportion because painting prevailed anyway. As for the auction fates of «different generations», contemporary art was not inferior to «old» masters in its ability to attract connoisseurs and buyers.

Kiev Golf Club is pleased to cooperate with Yelena Yagodovskaya and «Tadzio» gallery, who initiated and carried out this auction. Faith in the present and future is strengthened by believing in true values and on this basis one can confidently build a more vibrant and colourful plans.
